While we are unable to meet as a Youth Cafe, we can still do things together online. There are plenty of opportunities for The Mix to help the local community, especially supporting the elderly in care homes who will now be feeling particularly isolated.
To brighten their days, we are launching our ‘The Mix’ed Post’ projected. On a Tuesday or a Friday afternoon, when you would normally be at the Youth Café, the challenge is to produce something that can be sent to the residents of a care home. For example, it could be a letter, art work or a poem. *
You can then email to your work to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or send via social media. I will then print them off and post or email them to the care home, any replies will be shared on this page and forwarded to you.
*This covers anything you feel might make their day a little better - a picture/photo of a flower, a smile, a quote, a poem etc. This can be an original piece or something off the internet, you can even use paints and take a photo of your art work, or record a song. Let your imagination run wild!
